Every Saturday in Uromi, Mama fries akara for breakfast. three pieces each for Grandpa, Baba, baby Osaze and Ose. Ose comes back from the farm and finds one. She takes out her notebook, puts on Baba’s old police cap, and writes THE MISSING AKARA at the top of the page. Mama? Baba? Grandpa? Baby Osaze? The goat in the garden? Then the blue bucket moves.
